I hope beyond hope that "Where's Walrus" is an homage to Hillary Knight's book, "Where's Wallace," which is wonderful, as opposed to "Where's Waldo," which is trivial. I believe that Walrus and Wallace share a subtly subversive and ironic sense of reality. Poor Waldo lacks any sense of irony and has only his striped shirt and glasses for identity.
